Notes
RIP Basil Kirchin (1927 - 2005).

This is the the long awaited reissue of Abstractions of the Industrial North - absolutely lovely jazz music that was recorded by Basil Kirchin in 1966 for the De Wolfe library.

Abstractions of the Industrial North is not really like any other library music you might have heard before in that it doesn't evoke images of any particlar type of movie scene (car chase, love scene, dance scene etc) as most other libary music does (and was designed to do!). Instead it is wonderfully sad and unforgettable music, with the signature Kirchin hypnotic grooves stirring it all up every now and again. Lovely stuff.

Also included on the CD are a selection of recordings from other rare Kirchin, Jack Nathan and John Coleman productions, including The Wild One, Don't Lose Your Cool, Town Beat and Mind On The Run. These were all 10" De Wolfe releases which are now all exceptionally rare and include some incredible session musicians, including Jimmy Page and Big Jim Sullivan.
