Notes
This is the superb - and classic - jazz/blues/groovy soundtrack from Herbie Hancock to Michelangelo Antonioni's cult 60's movie starring David Hemmings, Vanessa Redgrave and Sarah Miles.Set in 'Swinging London' during the 60's, the movie tells the story of Thomas, a successful fashion photographer who unwittingly photographs a murder in a park whilst out scouting for new subjects. Loaded with symbolism and also some great scenes of groovy models and parties it's a cult favourite - partly due to the fantastic soundtrack from Herbie Hancock.
The CD version contains 2 tracks by a then up-coming group, "Tomorrow" who were recommended to Antonioni by David Hemmings. These tracks by "Tomorrow" were never used in the final version of the movie. The track "Bring Down the Birds" whilst not actually used in the final version of the movie was sampled by Deee-Lite for their 1990 hit "Groove is in the Heart".
