Notes
Back in the 60's and 70's, the Indian film industry was treating its patrons to plots involving bad boys, gangsters, voluptuous beauties, fast cars, hustlers and divas. These on-screen antics were scored with a unique blend of eastern and western musical styles that were inspired by the jazz, funk, and soul music filtering into Bombay from America and Europe The result is an immense library of movie soundtracks that combine the traditional Indian film music vocabulary of soaring strings and drifting flutes with western-styled funky drumbreaks, groovy basslines, and wah-wah guitars.
