For the Chato's Land soundtrack, Fielding responds to the savage tale with intense strings, blazing brass and harrowing percussion. The blistering landscape of the story inspires a plethora of subtle percussion figures and demanding woodwind solos whilst fierce violence incites vicious brass motifs, dollops of thundering snare and bass drum.

Fielding divides time between imposing flamenco-ish main melody & ever-winding secondary menace melody with the two themes jockeying for supremacy throughout soundtrack much like movie's on-screen adversaries. In a stroke of brilliance, Fielding declares the landscape the final winner and closes not with either melody but with a ferocious display of percussion instead.
