Notes
The third volume in the DigitMovies Ennio Morricone Giallo series is this - the soundtrack from Aldo Lado's interesting 1972 giallo Chi L'ha Vista Morire? (AKA Who Saw Her Die? & The Child).
For the Chi L'ha Vista Morire? soundtrack, Morricone did not compose atonal music (as is usual for the Giallo genre), but a series of music themes with modern instrumentation (drums, electric guitars, keyboards) accompanied by vocals from an all-child choir. What we get then is a very suspenseful and haunting atmosphere with an ancient ambience - almost intentionally in contrast with the violence of murders that occur throughout the movie.
Some of songs contains traditional lyrics, while others feature original words written by Maria Travia, Morricone's wife.
Sadly, the complete session tapes for the Chi L'ha Vista Morire? soundtrack had long been destroyed, so the stereo master tapes used for the original 1972 album (Gemelli GG.ST.10-017) have been used to produce this CD.
The 30 minutes of music contained in the original 1972 LP and on this premiere CD release contains all the music that was used in the movie.
Other CDs in the DigitMovies Ennio Morricone Giallo series are Senza Sapere Niente di Lei & Cosa avete fatto a Solange?.
This soundtrack has also been released by the Swedish label 'Fin de Siècle Media'. Their release comes in a digipak case and is £2.00 cheaper!
