Notes
LP version of the cool, soulful and funky soundtrack to the cult Blaxploitation movie Cleopatra Jones starring Tamara Dobson. A really great soundtrack with a real variety of styles amongst the tracks - soul, jazz and funk. We're absolutely lovin' the brass and strings on the more dynamic tracks. You'll instantly recognise the main theme - it's a corker! The late J.J. Johnson started his musical career as a trombone player for Benny Carter and Count Basie in the 40's and went on to record with artists such as Miles Davies in the 50's. It is, however, his work for TV and movie soundtracks such as Starsky & Hutch and Across 110th Street that he'll be best remembered.
