Notes
Another Intrada world premier release - this time Michael Small's Comes A Horseman soundtrack - the gorgeous music from Alan J. Pakula's western set during 1940s, starring Jane Fonda, James Caan and Jason Robards.
For the Comes A Horseman soundtrack, composer Small gives us a dynamic large-scale Americana score with a plethora of round-ups and action sequences. In balance is a gentle main theme that plays as the heart of the score.
This presentation represents the nearly-complete Comes A Horseman soundtrack in full stereo, produced from the 1/4" master tapes maintained by the composer's estate. A few very short, repetitive pieces were discarded by the composer during the original mixing sessions.
A powerful highlight is the action setpiece ("Oil Vs. Cattle") which was unused in the finished film but heard here for first time as is the dramatic flourish at close of "End Credits" which is another previously unheard highlight.
