Notes
Now this is a weird one. The (short) soundtrack to the cult-ish 70's British horror movie starring Donald Pleasance as a police detective investigating strange goings-on and disappearances in the London Underground. We were kinda confused as to the suitability of the rollicking main theme for the beginning of a horror movie (take a listen, you'll know what we mean) until we actually got to see it on TV a few months back and it all made sense. The opening title sequence is of London's Soho streets - complete with strip joints. Think of that when you listen to the main theme and you'll understand. Wil Malone has been composing and arranging music for over 4 decades and was a member of UK psych combo The Orange Bicycle. The strings on Massive Attack's Unfinished Symphony were his work as was the Verve's 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' (with a little help from Andrew Oldham). He has also worked with Depeche Mode, UNKLE, Black Sabbath, Gomez, Shack, Dido, Faithless and Kylie Minogue. Be warned - this is a short CD/LP - with a total running time of 21.34 - hence the reduced price.
