Notes
Quick to capitalise on the success of the 60's spy craze and Bond in particular, 20th Century Fox released the 'Flint' movies starring James Coburn. Full of campy 60's fun - both movies satirised pretty much every element of the Bond mythos - girls, gadgets, ludicrous world-threatening plots and massive explosions. Jerry Goldsmith was no stranger to the spy genre having scored The Prize (1963) and the pilot and early episodes of The Man From U.N.C.L.E (1964) - but Our Man Flint enabled him to pull out all the stops. Adding jazz influences and electric guitars (a nod to John Barry's Bond theme) to orchestral themes suggesting various geographic locales, these soundtracks are an enduring piece of 60's pop culture and a really fun listen!
