Notes
This LP showcases the cream of De Wolfe's UK psychedelic-pop archive from 1966-1969. What you get are 17 tracks of that superb 60's sound - very much like the kind of music that would be used in a low-budget 60's Swinging London movie when they wanted a shot of hip folks grooving away and smoking dope in a dark, dingy (but oh so cool) club.
The 'bands' that De Wolfe employed could have consisted of well-known bands of the time, session musicians, drop-outs hungry for fame or up-and-coming musicians. The London Studio Group, for example, were conducted by Basil Kirchin and had leading British session guitarists Big Jim Sullivan and Jimmy "Led Zeppelin" Page as part of its line-up.
These bands and composers were asked by De Wolfe to emulate the contemporary sound so that TV programme, advert and movie makers could give a scene or product a feeling of 'now', without paying huge royalties to use music from famous bands of the time.
This is a limited edition (1000) hand numbered LP.
This LP contains about 50/50 vocal and instrumental tracks and we found them all to be very agreeable.
