Notes
Gooooood Mornin' Vietnam! This is an absolute killer compilation of funky-ass tunes recorded in South East Asia by US bands formed to entertain the troops during the Vietnam war!
It really is funky stuff, with some great covers of classic tracks such as "Memphis Soul Stew" (King Curtis), "Superstition" (Stevie Wonder) and "Funky Stuff" (Kool & The Gang) and also two movie soundtrack themes "Black Belt Jones" and "The Big Boss". There's also some killer tunes that use the Japanese musical instrument the Koto. Play track 14 loud. It just doesn't work when it's quiet.
Producers and beatmakers will also appreciate the two tracks of crisp, clean drum loops and breaks.
Buy this. You'll love it. Long time.
Sample Watch (sort of)
The original version of the track "School Boy Crush" was sampled by Eric B and Rakim on their tune "Microphone Fiend"
