Notes
The world premiere release of The Golden Seal soundtrack that John Barry scored with co-composer Dana Kaproff for the Frank Zuniga adventure about a family living in the Aleutian islands.
For the The Golden Seal soundtrack, Barry supplied several impressive cues and Kaproff worked with those themes plus created several ideas of his own. The result is a coherent, beautiful, exciting soundtrack!
The Main theme is warm, whilst other ideas range from pastorale to dramatic. Barry's "The Frolic" is an outstanding sequence melding both warm theme for strings with a dynamic, regal splendor for brass.
Intrada has newly mastered the entire CD from the mint condition 1/2" 3-track stereo session masters vaulted at MGM. This release of The Golden Seal soundtrack includes all the original LP contents plus several previously unreleased cues. Amongst the new highlights is Barry's lengthy, dramatic "Broken Promise". The CD also includes the original End Title song "Letting Go" by John Barry & Don Black, sung by Glen Campbell plus both the LP version of the Main Title (with water & bird effects) and the premiere of the newly remixed version without effects.
John Barry supervises, Dana Kaproff conducts.
