Notes
This is the great new album Goodbye Pluto from 'Jet Set Swe' - the contemporary Swedish band that pay homage to 60s groovy/jazz/cinematic and lounge sounds!
Goodbye Pluto blasts off with the action-filled main theme from the 'Lady In Cement' soundtrack which represents just about everything 'Jet Set Swe' are about - car chase music with a tropical touch and a crazy mixture of unexpected instrumentation.
The title reveals a flirt with the sci-fi genre with tracks such as 'Barbarella', 'UFO' and 'Lament For A Planet', but the Scandinavian heritage is also well represented with swedish songs as 'Danny's Dream', 'Novelty Accordion' and 'The Master'. And in between there are some more easy and crime-jazz classics such as Mancini's 'A Shot in the Dark' and Hoffmann's 'Robbi, Tobbi Und Das Fliewatüüt'.
Three years have passed since the release of their debut album 'From Sweden To You' (2004). They now take it further with the development of a tighter combo sound. It's also a tougher and rougher band than before, but always with the smooth organ and vibraphone on top.
Jet Set Swe brings together the groove of the jazz beat stars like Ramsey Lewis, the eccentric arrangements of Esquivel and the funkiness of British library music of the 60s.
