Notes
The fourth volume in DigitMovies 'Mario Bava Anthology' series sees the release of two previously unreleased classics; the I Vampiri soundtrack (1957) by Roman Vlad and the Caltiki Il Mostro Immortale soundtrack (1959) from Roberto Nicolosi.
Both movies were co-directed by Riccardo Freda (as "Robert Hampton") and an uncredited Mario Bava - who, according to certain sources, besides taking care of the cinematography, lighting and special effects, also completed both movies as director where his unique style is very much evident in these classic 50s horror movies.
Both CDs produced from the original master tapes.
As an extra special treat there's also the inclusion at the end of CD1 of the very rare stereo track from the CAM Archives called "To Mirna", an original composition written and conducted by Carlo Savina (dedicated to his wife Mirna) that then was used as main theme in the Mario Bava¹s movie "Lisa and the Devil" (1973): a lovely romantic theme for big orchestra with a pop arrangement and the fabulous voice of Edda Dell'Orso. Despite careful digital restoration and remastering of this extra track, some audio anomalies from the original source remains.
