Much of the music here is 'source music' - music that accompanies a scene that in real life would have accompanying music such as a circus, saloon or a scene with can-can dancers.

The original LP from 1969 (of which there were only 500 produced) had 13 tracks - this CD reissue includes those 13 tracks along with 15 previously unreleased tracks taken from the original monaural session master tapes.
