Notes
There's no question that Last House on the Left from director Wes Craven is perhaps one of the nastiest movies ever made. The big debate about the movie usually surrounds its soundtrack and it's suitability for accompanying this incredibly dark movie. Some people hate it. Some people like it. We happen to LOVE it!

In our opinion, the beautiful folk/ballad/pop-type tunes that were written by David Hess (who played the infamous and downright dispicable Krug in the movie) totally compliment the movie in a rather disturbing fashion. And then there's the comedic Baddies Theme - you have to ask why Hess decided to write music like that for such a dark bunch of characters, but the thing is, it works! and the movie just wouldn't be the same with any other music. Alongside the ballads, Hess also used some early electronic gear for the sounds that accompany some of the more violent scenes.

David Hess is an accomplished (and two-time Grammy winning) musician and songwriter who's been responsible for some well known tunes. In the 50's he wrote "All Shook Up", "Frankie and Johnny" and "Speedy Gonzalez" to name a few. He's also starred in over 30 films.
