Fantastic. This is the world premiere CD release of the actual John Barry soundtrack from James Clavell's 1970 epic movie The Last Valley starring Omar Sharif and Michael Caine and set in 1637 Germany during The Thirty Years' War.

Barry anchors this superb soundtrack with two distinct ideas; first is the propulsive, dynamic theme for brass and large chorus and second is the rich, sweeping valley theme for strings and woodwinds. Adding further contrast are dark ideas for the plague sequences and rhythmic action cues for the battle scenes.

This wonderful CD release of The Last Valley soundtrack has been produced from the mastertapes of the original 1970 Dunhill LP release.
