For the US release of Legend, the distributors decided that in order for the movie to appeal to 'the kids', it should have a more contemporary sounding pop/synth score and Tangerine Dream were brought on-board to completely re-score the movie. The post-production problems surrounding Legend are well documented and there exists at least four different cuts of the movie.

At one point Goldsmith's soundtrack was considered lost, but after discovering a set of digital master tapes and painstakingly recreating the edits and running order to match the movie, Silva Screen has released this fantastic CD which contains over 70 minutes of Goldsmith's score and attempts to remain faithful to the edits as used in the movie.
