Shortly after the release of their first LP (L'uomo) in 1971, Osanna were asked to provide the soundtrack to Fernando Di Leo's Italian crime ('Poliziotteschi') movie Milano Calibro 9.

Working closely with Luis E. Bacalov, who composed three of the tracks and provided the orchestral arrangements for the whole soundtrack, Osanna performed and recorded the music live to the final cut of the movie in the Fonorama Studios in Rome. After recording the music for the movie, they then went to a recording studio in Milan and recorded the music again for the LP release which was titled Milano Calibro 9: Preludio, Tema, Variazioni e Canzona. This CD is a reissue of that LP.

This is a great album throughout, with track 1 (Preludio) being our favourite - a killer piece with fantastic string accompaniments.
