Notes
This is the re-recorded soundtrack to Tom Savini's decent 1990 remake of George Romero's groundbreaking Night of the Living Dead (1968). Due to budget contraints, the original 1968 movie used library music for its soundtrack. For Savini's remake, McCollough came up with a suitably eerie, moody and intensely atmospheric (largely electronic) score.
Please note - when putting this project together, composer Paul McCollough decided that even though the original master tapes for his score were available to use, he felt he could improve upon the sound quality of the original music by re-recording the identical cues using pretty much the same set-up as was used when performing the original music. The producers of this CD "challenge even the most ardent fan of the movie to try and discern the difference between the original soundtrack and this new version". We love Savini's remake and we couldn't tell the difference. Sounds superb.
