The award winning orchestral (with a hint of electronics) score for Poltergeist 2: The Other Side, the 1986 follow up to the hugely successful Poltergeist.

Jerry Goldsmith composed the score for the original Poltergeist movie in 1982 and was brought back to score the sequel. For the Poltergeist 2 soundtrack, Goldsmith decided to add electronics to the mix by employing over a dozen syths and subtly intergrating them into the score to add an ethereal and other-wordly atmosphere that perfectly captured the sequel's new spirit world dimensions.

In 1987 Goldsmith won the BMI Film Music Award for his Poltergeist 2 score. He also received an Oscar nomination in 1982 for his Poltergeist score, but lost out to E.T. by John Williams.
