Notes
Selected Sounds, from Recur Records is a terrific CD that brings us 26 gorgeous jazzy, groovy and easy tracks from Hamburg-based music library 'Selected Sound' that were recorded in the 60s and 70s.

Selected Sound was the imprint for some of the most remarkable pop orchestral recordings made in Europe between 1968 and 1987. The German label produced music specifically for radio, television, film and advertising backgrounds and, like all library music, none of the records that were issued to TV and radio stations were ever made available to the general public.

Over the period, 122 LPs were released, and much of the music contained therein naturally found its way into television, radio and film productions.

Some tracks on Selected Sounds may cause a sense of Déja-vu; "Door to Paradise" for example was used as a theme for the BBC1 series "Tycoon" and was issued as a single on the BBC Records label in 1978; the two tracks by Jonny Teupen and his Swinging Baroque Ensemble were used as interval music between schools programmes on ITV in the late 1960s; and "Habanera" and "Happy Gonzales" popped up from time to time as filler music during strikes and breakdowns at Scottish Television between 1968 and 1972.

Extremely Limited Edition.
