Notes
The world premiere release of the highly-requested James Horner soundtrack from the 1983 Walt Disney fantasy Something Wicked This Way Comes, adapted from the Ray Bradbury novel and starring Jason Robards, Jonathan Pryce and Pam Grier.
For the Something Wicked This Way Comes soundtrack Horner writes an incredibly effective horror score with a meld of spooky menace and sheer terror. The music for Mr. Dark & his approaching carnival in a small town at turn of the century is unusually evocative. In rich contrast is the memorable, nostalgic Americana theme for the boyhood elements of the fantastic tale whilst the soaring major-key waltz melody remains one of composer's finest inspirations and the final moment when the wistful idea plays in harmonica is simply divine!
Intrada presents for us on this CD the Something Wicked This Way Comes soundtrack in dynamic stereo, mixed from mint condition original digital master elements for first time ever! James Horner & his customary engineer Simon Rhodes personally produced this spectacular album for the record label with maximum listening pleasure in mind, just as they would for any major label release. The results are one of composer's richest albums!
