The first series of Space:1999 ran for 24 episodes of 50 minutes each. For Year One, Barry Gray composed and recorded full scores for just four episodes - Breakaway, Matter Of Life And Death, Black Sun and Another Time, Another Place. This music was also re-edited into almost all the remaining episodes. Gray composed additional percussion for The Full Circle, and session musician Jim Sullivan composed and recorded the sitar tracks for The Troubled Spirit. All the other music used in the first series was acquired from music libraries or Gray's own back catalogue.
