Notes
Oh yes! The boys from Licorice Soul have done it again! This is a great 7" single featuring two killer early 70s funky/groovy tracks from the UK's Studio G Library Music archive.
Side A 'Hi Bird' is a superb midtempo Hammond gem with fantastic drums and a sinuous, groovy bassline. An infectious melody carries this dancefloor gem and evelates it way above the usual library music sound.
Side B 'Movin' opens with a killer open drum break that won't let up! Highlighting British session guitarist Colin Pincott's superb technique, the track is underpinned by a killer rhythm section!
Both tracks originally appeared on a promotional EP in 1967, circulated only in tiny quantities to British film and television production companies. As Studio G's production strategy moved tentatively onto the album format in 1970, these tracks were recycled and appeared with others from separate sessions with different bands on the infamous and highly collectable 'Beat Group' promotional album, Studio G release LPSG1001.
