Notes
Here's another one you'll want to stick in.... your CD player. It's a brilliant collection of re-recorded themes from the classic 'Carry On' films of the 60s and 70s.
Sadly, the original master tapes for the 'Carry On' soundtracks are now considered lost forever so Dutton Vocalion had the great idea to re-record a selection of the title themes from everyone's favourite saucy british comedies. With What a Carry On!: Theme Music of the Great British Carry on Film Comedies they did a great job with all of Eric Rogers' & Bruce Montgomery's fun music performed by The Royal Ballet Sinfonia under the able leadership of conductor and arranger Gavin Sutherland.
Along with the theme music from 14 of the 'Carry On' movies there's also the music from Twice Around the Daffodils (1961) and Watch Your Stern (1960), two examples of the 'Carry On' sub-genre that starred actors from the successful series. We also get a suite of music that was originally used in the hospital dinner-dance scene from Carry On Again, Doctor.
So, pour yourself a large stiff one, pull it out (your credit card), enter it carefully (your details), order this fab CD and wait for it to come (flying through your letterbox). Ooooeeer, missus. etc.
