The White Buffalo soundtrack could not be more atypical of Barry - while his dramatic sense is as strong as ever, neither before nor since has he written such a bleak musical painting of a movie with the music reflecting the movie's cold, bleak tone perfectly whilst retaining a sense of beauty.
