Notes
It's a very good question. Who exactly is Dr. Who? Well, this CD doesn't claim to be able to answer that question, but what it does do is bring us some weird and wonderful tunes from the 60's and 70's that were all spawned during the Dr. Who frenzy.
Like all things that permeate popular culture, the huge popularity of Dr. Who (the cult Sci-Fi BBC TV series that launched in 1962) led all kinds of folk to attempt to capitalise (cash-in) on its success - this CD contains the offerings of the pop music world.
Highlights for us are the classic Dr. Who theme (from the groundbreaking BBC Radiophonic workshop), the bizarre rip-off (is that a swanee whistle we hear?), the silly "I'm Gonna Spend My Christmas With A Dalek", the groovy "The Eccentric Dr. Who" and the brilliant "Who Is The Doctor" featuring 3rd Doctor, Jon Pertwee doing a kind of spoken word thing over the Dr. Who theme.
If it's not really for you then it makes a great gift for a "whooie" (an avid Dr. Who fan). Exterminate! Exterminate!
